• How do I add a new calibrant to Calibrant Database?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Mass Calibration Settings...
  2. Select Calibrant Database tab
  3. Press New, to open Calibrant Editor
  4. Fill in name and calibration ions data
  5. Press OK, to add the new calibrant to database


• How do I edit a calibrant in Calibrant Database?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Mass Calibration Settings...
  2. Select Calibrant Database tab
  3. Select a calibrant
  4. Press Edit, to open Calibrant Editor
  5. Update calibrant data
  6. Press OK, to save the change


• How do I delete a calibrant from Calibrant Database?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Mass Calibration Settings...
  2. Select Calibrant Database tab
  3. Select a calibrant
  4. Press Delete, to remove calibrant from the database


• How do I export a calibrant from Calibrant Database?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Mass Calibration Settings...
  2. Select Calibrant Database tab
  3. Select a calibrant
  4. Press Export
  5. Choose file name and location
  6. Press OK, to export the calibrant


• How do I import a calibrant into Calibrant Database?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Mass Calibration Settings...
  2. Select Calibrant Database tab
  3. Press Import
  4. Choose an exported calibrant file
  5. Press OK and a preview dialog is open
  6. Press OK and then enter a name for the calibrant
  7. Press OK, to import calibrant to the database


• How do I create an internal calibrator?
  1. Open MS Viewer for a known reference spectrum
  2. Press Mass Calibration in toolbar, to open calibrator editor
  3. Press Load to choose a calibrant from database

     

  4. Assign ToFs
     • Press Auto Assign ToFs to automatically centroid and assign matched calibration ions
     • Use Manually Assign ToFs to interactively assign selected calibration ions
  5. Choose Calibration Function Type and Polynomial Order if applicable
  6. Press Compute, then the new calibration function is shown below the current calibration function.
  7. Examine calculate mass accuracy and peak shape to remove ill-formed peaks and repeat Step 4-6.
  8. Press OK to add calibrator to the calibration model. This calibrator will now be part of the model and used to calibrate spectra


• How do I assign ToFs to calibrator ions automatically?
  1. Open Calibrator Editor
  2. Select rows in table to be updated. (NOTE: If no rows selected, all rows will be updated)
  3. Press Auto Assign ToFs to automatically assign ToFs based on Mass Calibration settings. (NOTE: Any ion that could not be found in the spectrum will not be changed.)


• How do I assign ToFs to calibrator ions manually?
  1. Open Calibrator Editor
  2. Select a single row in calibrator table
  3. Select a single peak in the MS Viewer
  4. Press Manually Assign ToFs to centroid the peak based on Mass Calibration settings and assign the calculated centroid to the selected row


• How do I view a calibrator in the calibration model?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Current Calibration Model
  2. Select Analysis Calibration tab
  3. Select desired calibrator from the table
  4. Press View in toolbar, to show a quick view of the the calibrator's table and graph


• How do I edit a calibrator in the calibration model?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Current Calibration Model
  2. Select Analysis Calibration tab
  3. Select desired calibrator from the model
  4. Press Edit in toolbar, to launch MS Viewer associated with this calibrator


• How do I delete a calibrator from the calibration model?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Current Calibration Model
  2. Select Analysis Calibration tab
  3. Select desired calibrator from the model
  4. Press Delete in toolbar, to remove the calibrator from the model


• How do I export a calibrator table?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Current Calibration Model
  2. Select Analysis Calibration tab
  3. Press Export button, to save the user-defined calibrator table to a file


• How do I import a calibrator table?
  1. Choose Configure Menu > Mass Calibration > Current Calibration Model
  2. Select Analysis Calibration tab
  3. Press Import button, to import a previously exported calibrator table (NOTE: the new calibrators will be appended to the model.)
