Follow these steps to install or upgrade a licensed version (not a test version) of LCxLC Software, Release 2.1 [In perticular, not Step 6.]
If you have a new license for Release 2.1 and are not upgrading from Release 1.0, you will need a USB key. For a license and USB key, contact:
info@gcimage.comIf you are upgrading from Release 1.0, you must have an upgrade code for your existing USB key. If you are licensed for the upgrade but have not received your upgrade code, contact:
info@gcimage.comwith your USB key serial number. You may obtain your USB key serial number in Step 8 below or by executing the "WIBU-KEY" program from the "Control Panel" and then selecting the USB key on the Contents pane.
Download the current release of the software from:
http://www.gcimage.com/lcxlc/downloads.htmlor request a CDROM from:
info@gcimage.com
Remove the USB key from the computer.
Run the downloaded exe file (or the setup.exe file from the CDROM).
Read and agree to the license terms.
Choose an installation folder. For an upgrade from Release 2.1, install the software in a new folder. Overwriting the old version may result in problems due to differences in the installations. Also, if you are running Microsoft Windows Vista or Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System, we recommend that you do not install the software in the Program Files folder (or other system folder).
If desired, and if not previously installed, install the WIBU-Key driver and software and/or the NIST MS search software and demonstration library. If you are upgrading from Release 1.0, these installations should not be required and you may cancel their installations.
Insert the USB key.
If you are upgrading from Release 1.0, execute the upgrade program from the "LCxLC Software" program group in the "Start" menu (or from the bin folder in the LCxLC Software installation folder). The upgrade program displays your USB key serial number and requires an upgrade code (referenced in Step 1) to upgrade the USB key.
Execute "LC Image" or "LC Project" from the "LCxLC Software" program group in the "Start" menu (or from the bin folder in the LCxLC Software installation folder). The first time you execute your new version, you will be asked whether or not you wish to import settings from a previous installation. This question is not asked subsequently.
