Follow these steps to install or upgrade a licensed version (not a trial version) of GC Image LCxLC Edition, Release 2026. [In particular, note Step 6.]
If you have a new license for Release 2026 and are not upgrading from a previous release, you will need a USB key and an activation code. For a license and USB key, contact:

If you are upgrading from a previous release, you must have an upgrade code for your existing USB key. If you are licensed for the upgrade but have not received your upgrade code, contact:

with your USB key serial number. You may obtain your USB key serial number by either (a) following these instructions through Step 9 below or (b) executing the "WibuKey" program from the "Control Panel" and then selecting the USB key on the Contents pane.
Download the current release of the software from:

Remove the USB key from the computer.
Run the downloaded exe file (or the exe file from the CDROM).
Read and agree to the license terms.
On the next page, select your license type. If using a USB Key license, select the corresponding option to install the required WibuKey driver and software.
Choose an installation folder. For a clean install of Release 2026, choose a new folder for the software. Overwriting the old version may result in problems due to differences in the installations. Also, we recommend that you do not install the software in the Program Files folder (or other system folder).
On the last page of the installation wizard, select the additional components to install. If any of these components are already installed, you may uncheck them to skip their installation.
Insert the USB key.
Execute the activation program from the "GC Image LCxLC Edition" program group in the "Start" menu (or from the bin folder in the GC Image LCxLC Edition installation folder). The activation program displays your USB key serial number and requires an activation/upgrade code (referenced in Step 1) to activate the USB key.
Execute "LC Image" from the "GC Image LCxLC Edition" program group in the "Start" menu (or from the bin folder in the GC Image LCxLC Edition installation folder). The first time you execute your new version, you will be asked whether or not you wish to import settings and resources (such as color maps, CLIC expressions, etc.) from a previous installation. This question is not asked subsequently.
